A devastating accident occurred in Manitoba, Canada, on Thursday, claiming the lives of at least fifteen people. A bus carrying senior passengers collided with a truck at an intersection near Carberry, located 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg.

The bus was en route to a casino in Carberry when the crash took place. Deputy Police Officer Rob Hill of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that “at least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.”

In addition, ten other people are receiving medical care at local hospitals. While both drivers survived, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the crash. Photos from the scene revealed damaged walking frames and wheelchair seats near tarpaulins covering the victims.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his condolences, stating his thoughts are with the injured and the families of those who lost loved ones. Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson also offered her sympathies.

This tragedy adds to a painful history of deadly accidents in Canada, echoing the 2018 crash in Saskatchewan that claimed 16 lives. These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of safe and responsible driving to prevent future tragedies.
